In the applies to field, I have: =$L$9:$L:42 ![]() I don't believe that rule should be affecting anything with the one I am having difficulty with. One applied to column N and simply tells the column to alternate blue and white shading according to the COUNT function so that if I hide a row, the shading still alternates properly based on the visible cells. So there were a few other rules that were carried over as I copied this tab from another in order to shape my new worksheet, so I deleted the rules that aren't necessary and am left with 2.
